When photographing do as the Romans do
For each selected region, we scan through the satellite pictures. That way, after hours of research, we may come across something truly remarkable which is also appropriate for our project. When this occurs, we dive into the location and continue the search personally on site.
Our photographer, Milan Radisics usually spend days, sometimes weeks on the field, looking for the best crop of landscape and for the best light. But the key is to get closer to the subject, as Robert Capa said. Milan do this with camera and with his soul also.
Here is few funny illustrations how he pickig up local habitats:
As Icelander in southern region of Iceland
Knitted hat and white beard are the hottest things in cold summer temperature around zero.
As Don Quijote in Aragon, Spain
Driving through driest area in Spain searching for the water and finding just a drought.
As Zermatter beside the Matterhorn, Switzerland
Based on local advertisements, Zermatter is the collective name for the friends of Zermatt, who is hiking and run around Matterhorn.
As Gondolieri in Venice, Italy
I spent few days together with local gondolieri from Burano island, who helped me scouting best locations in Venice lagoon. Result is great assimilation.
As Crazy Yugoslavian in Nin, Croatia.
People lay in mud like real mammals, because someones say it is a healthy… I have tried this experience and voila, my skin is now much softer 😉
As nature and art lover in Baku, Azerbaijan
Bedise mud volcanoes I have visited symbols of Azerbaijan: fire mountain and museum Heydar Aliev designed by Zaha Hadid and inspired by flow of mud volcanoes.
