Svínafell Glacier

The Svínafell, or “pigs glacier” in English, one of the tongues of the Vatnajökull Ice Cap, touches the moraine ridge in Southern Iceland.

Runoff from the glacier coloured by debris, like molten metal, reaches the shore and  swells the waters of the lake, which represents a beginning and an end. Due to climate change, within roughly 30 years, this tongue will completely vanish, replaced by the increasingly growing lake.
